One final task to make next year great!!

Ok, here is my chance... If you are homeschooling and have not been to the Annual CHEA Convention... STOP IT! The Education, Encouragement and Vision available there is crucial. The CHEA Convention is a great place to get it! Not only do you get to look at curriculum up close and personal, but you can take advantage of the used curriculum sale as well. But the BEST resource, in my opinion, are the seminars. There you can hear some of the best, most Godly teaching that you will hear all year, and it isn't just about homeschooling--it's about life!!

I can’t encourage you enough to attend this as a couple. Spouses get in free this year for the first time so take advantage of it. For some this is the only real training, equipping, and building up you will get-- all from "been there done that" homeschoolers.

I want to talk to the men here: Men, it is key that you go with your wife. At least for one day. You need to have the vision for your family, and seeing and hearing from the various speakers will give you the power boost and encouragement you need to facilitate and lead your family. It will add value, vision and purpose to your family life. Let me warn you the exhibit hall is scary and no place for men, you likely will only be able to last about 20 minutes at a time, but your wife needs your input there so do your best. Ha ha So, find a way to have someone watch the kids and GO!!!

It is held at Ontario Convention Center on July 7th, 8th and 9th and you can even volunteer/work to be a room host at the seminars, or work crowd control. Doing this a certain number of hours gets you in to the convention free, if money is an issue. So, now you have no excuses!! I guarantee it will be a blessing to you as a couple and your family!! I can’t tell you how valuable the a CHEA convention has been to Lyndi and me over the years. You can get info and register on their website: www.cheaofca.org . Our local DCHEA group usually has a strong showing there, so hopefully, you will see someone you know there!!

It has been an honor and blessing for Lyndi and I to serve as the DCHEA Support Group Leaders this year. We will be back as the leaders again next year, Lord willing. Hope you have a great summer--See you next year!!
