What Life is all About--Wide angle Perspective
Lately, I feel like I have been in a whirlwind of life! I have felt so consumed with my little "dot" of a life; it has been at times a struggle; but also a time of great growth. God has really been showing me just to trust Him and depend on Him alone. I have had to constantly remember to keep my eyes on Jesus, no matter what is going on. I am continuing to learn to abide in Him. God is showing me to trust Him with the bigger picture, even if I don't fully see what that is. I think it is a place we all feel like we have been at times; maybe some of you feel like you are going through it now.
We can get so bogged down and overwhelmed with things going on in our lives. Different people have different ideas of what life is all about--self-gain, relationships, jobs, etc. We can sometimes get our focus more on those kinds of narrow things, so it helps to identify what your own purpose in life is according to God. Identifying what you think is the purpose of your life really shows you a lot about yourself. It makes you realize your reasons for doing things you do: your motives and perspective. It helps us realize what life is really all about.
I know that God has shown me that my perspective on what life is all about should be to love God and to love others. Uh, wait a minute…That is the perspective I know I should have, but that is not always my perspective. I have to remind myself that is my reason for living, and everything I do should reflect that. I have found that is a good measuring stick. When I start to get consumed with things in my life like friends, my schedule, or difficult circumstances, it helps me to think about what life is really all about--loving God and loving others. Then, what I am consumed with doesn't seem like such a big deal. I try to keep my mind focused on the wide angle perspective--God's bigger picture--and that brings peace to my life. It will to yours too.
