Where are you God?

As I was sitting in church on Sunday, my pastor told us a story called, "The Flooded House." I felt that it applied to my life in so many ways. The story goes something like this.
There was a guy who lived in a two story house on a hill. It started to rain really hard. It flooded the streets and it got to the point that it flooded all the way up to this guy’s house. As the water started filling up his house a boat came and someone yells, "We're here to
save you!" So the guy replies, "No, God will protect me!" Now the guy is on the second story because the first story was flooded. Another boat comes along and someone says, "We're here to save you!" The guy says, "No, God will protect me!" So the boat leaves. So now he's on the roof because the whole house is flooded. So a helicopter comes and someone yells out, "we're here to save you!" But the guy yell back again, "No, God will protect me!" So the helicopter leaves. Now the water reaches the roof and the guy dies. When he gets to heaven, he asked God, "I thought you would protect me," God says, "I did, I sent two boats and a helicopter."
After hearing this story it made me realize I have been looking for God himself or listening for his voice when all along God could have used anything to help or change the situation. When I have a difficult time I turn to God in prayer. One particular time I had an argument with my friend, so I prayed that God would help me. After I was done praying my mom came in and helped us work our problems. So now I realize God can use people here to help us with any situation.
God is so faithful to His sheep. We just need to understand that we can call on God for anything. He will answer according to His will and in His timing. And He could use someone as simple as our own family members. So trust in Him and He will not let you down.
